Are you feeling overwhelmed by the thought of “adulting”?

Do I really need to eat my greens everyday?

How do I make friends now that I’m not in school?

Everyone is asking me when I’ll get married or have kids!

So much pressure!

Worried about becoming independent?

Learning to be on your own after separation/divorce?

I just moved into my own place…now what?

My kids just moved out…now what..again?

Ugh, “adulting” — how the word has plagued so many of us! No matter if you are 25, 45, or 65, you may feel like you’re just not “adulting” the right way. The expectations of adulthood can be incredibly daunting and intimidating. It starts off with making your own meals and doing your own laundry. It doesn’t stop there though. Then you need to get a degree, be top of your class, get the best job, get married, have 3 children, have the best friends in the world from all stages of your life, and buy a house. Oh my gosh! My heart is already pounding!

All these pressures can easily make us feel helpless, anxious, sad, lonely, and like crawling under a rock. Although we are labeled “adults”, it does not mean we always feel like one, and that’s okay. There is no concrete time of when we become a “grown up”. Let’s embrace that growth will continue on for the rest of our lives. This can become an exciting and beautiful thing, as opposed to a scary, painful experience. Come in and let’s figure out how to help you enjoy this important time in your life and feel confident with who you are today.
